David Roush, CEO of Insurance.com define that “Social host laws are targeted toward hosts that serve or provide alcohol to minors or persons who are intoxicated,” This law may vary from state to state, but mostly social host law place the hosts being responsible for providing alcohol drinks to visitors that are intoxicated then will drive after the party.

So protect yourself, party hosts should check their insurers to see if the owner or renter is liable. If the current insurance coverage does not offer adequate cover, owner may ask the insurer agent on what are the requirements to do for personal umbrella policy.
